We're proud to introduce the Buddy iPhone application, now available for immediate download from the App Store. The Buddy Application is a client for the Buddy platform that allows iPhone and iPod touch users the ability to add their profile to the Buddy system and search for Buddies who share common interests. Once you've found a Buddy, send them a message or exchange gifts. Messages are free of charge - we don't use your cell minutes nor SMS text message allocation

The first step is to create your profile. Your profile is your "face" on Buddy - tell us a bit about yourself, and share a picture. The information you provide here will show up when people search for you. You can be as specific or as general as you prefer, and you even have the flexibility to specify what kind of Buddy you may be contacted as.

On this page, you need to enter the criteria for people you're actively looking for. It could be that hot date, it could be a golfing partner or a drinking Buddy! Either way, the options are nearly endless and you should enter as much or as little info as you want to provide to others.

The Buddy List is where you find the results of your search, per the settings you added on the "Match Criteria" page. You can see a picture, name and tagline for each Buddy that appears, and simply tapping on any given row opens up the "Buddy Profile" information page for the Buddy Profile you created for yourself a little earlier. There is the option to see Buddies within walking, driving or flying distance - and you can filter your results either by that distance, or time since last log-on.

The profile page of your chosen Buddy is exactly as you'd expect - all their information, plus the ability to send them a message (through the Buddy system - no text message fees!) or send a gift if appropriate. Also tap on the image to see an expanded size version.

Buddy supports its own instant message environment where no text or message quotients are impacted. Message back and forth with your friends, and never pay a message fee again!

Choose from an extensive list of gifts and awards to send to your fellow Buddies. Some gifts are just novelty items, others are sponsored items, and some are special deal vouchers provided by a select number of sponsors permitted to promote their offering to Buddies by way of the Buddy Gift system.
